Jason,
In a short time I have become a huge fan of the Unsayable podcast. You guys need to do a new one.

My roomate Phill and I just started our own, it doesn't have much of a theme (at least right now).

Listen to it if nothing else to laugh at us

Sorry about that, YouTube does not work with Ogg Theora video format, and it took a little while to find a service that would convert Ogg to flash. The video is up and running now.

chris, i love you. 1st off, the whole point of the wii is to try it. you seriously cannot judge it without trying it. i know u're a hardcore xbox fanboy and i also love my 360, its probably the best video game system ever (however, that "poll" is a bit pretentious). but, to refute u're arguments in no particular order, the wii is obviously NOT trying to compete with 360 and ps3 in terms of graphics and as a complete media machine. when u're playing the wii, u dont care about the graphics at all (closest comparison i can think of is playing guitar hero). nintendo wanted to revolutionize the one thing about video games that has basically been the same since the very beginning, the controls. they might not have completely changed the way video games are played, but they are at least getting developers to think outside the box (maybe why its taking a while for new cames to come out). give it some time, the 3rd party support WILL be there with as popular as it is and besides, everyone knows u buy a nintendo system for the nintendo games, c'mon now. i have zelda, rayman, monkey ball, wario, and wii sports. with all those mini games i have, it adds up to be 200+ different games i can play on my wii. about half of them are bad to ok, and the other half are either fun or fuckin awesome. i guarantee they could even bring a smile to YOUR face chris with some of the crazy ass minigames i have.

u talked about showing people gears of war and everyone beeing like ooh, ahh, so pretty, and yeah its a great game. it plays almost the exact same way every other 1st and 3rd person shooter game does. the wii is completely different. every game has a unique feel. they are all fun in different ways. everytime i show it to someone who has never played, i'm playing for 2-4 hours at least (ask brandon about when he "stopped by" my new house when coming thru richmond and stayed for 3+ hours). i do play my 360 a bit more than the wii at this point simply becuase i've had my wii since day 1, and there have been a slew of really good games that just came out for 360. the 2 systems are a perfect complement to each other imho. i have my media center and graphics machine in the 360, and my fun machine in the wii. if i was to pick one, i'd prolly go with the 360, but i'd feel heartbroken without my wii.

friend codes, blah, it sucks but whatever; no original download games, not necessary. no online mulitplayer, this is my greatest concern, the one thing i would like to change if i could. I'm not ruling out the possibility that they can bring it out later (like u said with guitar hero 2, which i also can't wait for). yeah, its not perfect, but i've never seen a video game system bring people together like the wii. all types of people. gamers, non-gamers, guys, girls, kids, old people. the reason u're argument is flawed is becuase u have not played it. like i said before, u just dont get it. and if u do play it and dont like it, whatever. u love u're xbox and thats fine. just dont go around bashing the wii for no reason. it hasn't done anything to you, it just wants to love you chris, let it love you.

Adam,

Once you've listened to the latest p-Cast, I really want you to CONSIDER my arguments before you respond! I'm sure Wii Sports is probably a lot of fun to play, and the new Zelda is, well... a NEW ZELDA, but you can't argue that the system doesn't have problems! I mean, friend codes, no online play, Cooking Mama... come on! And I ask you this, which do you play more, your 360 or your Wii? (Note: I can and WILL edit your comment) Here's a good article I found that sums up a few of the problems with the system:
http://www.thebbps.com/blog/2007/04/04/wii-want-improvements/

and another one from Digg. Read the comments, most people agree with what I'm saying:
http://digg.com/gaming_news/3rd_Party_Killed_the_Wii

Look, I'm a gamer. More so than most people, including you Adam (no offense). I realize that I should try it before I knock it, but can you really blame me for being skeptical and concerned that Nintendo will make the same mistakes they did with the Gamecube?
As for online Guitar Hero 2 rock-offs, Harmonix said they didn't include it at launch due to time constraints but it WOULD be something they'll roll out in a future online update.

You need to realize though that the Xbox 360 wireless adapter is an A/G adapter. While most people don't want to bother using A, for myself it was a must. I have an A and a G router setup. I use the A wireless for streaming HD video to my 360. With a G adapter I simply would sometimes get Network Congestion due to the other devices on G, and some interference. Wireless A runs at 5.8ghz and therefore is better to use for streaming video, when you have to use wireless.

Dearest Listeners,

It's me AngryGhost, co-anchor of the most popular podcast on the interwebs. If you've listened to the latest episode of the Unsayable podcast, you may have noticed that our audio streams may be a little, how do you say... out of sync. Since Jazer, Bart, and I are all recording the webisode from different locations, we record ourselves separately and cue them up after the show to maximize audio quality. As a result, in some places of our latest jaunt, the conversations sound kind of funny. For example, I might make a joke, and Jazer and Bart begin to laugh before the punchline. This technical difficulty has been identified and analyzed by our crack team of code monkeys and should nary happen again. As fans of the show are no doubt aware, poor audio quality, along with constant re-buffering makes me unstable! We will do our best to avoid this in the future.

               Love (with furious hatred),

Okay, that was lag, I can't shoot the guy in front of me if he doesn't exist on my screen. I would argue that all of my percieved wild, useless, crazy driving is either one of two things.

One: Lag is making it impossible for me to tell what's happening.

Two: My stratagy is so complex and obscure it only looks like madness to untrained observer.

Not only does Jazer drive the car around in circles, but he routinely will pin us up against a wall, giving us absolutely 0% chance of surviving the sortie. And if I refuse to let him drive, (which is usually the case) and instead allow him to man the turret, despite my PLEAS to take out the rocket launcher guy who is DIRECTLY in front of us, he can never seem to find which way is up!

Whaddup Gibbskin,

I hear you, seems like to me that since this is supposed to be a totally "connected" device they could have squeezed a wireless adapter into the box itself. I know they were trying to cut cuts, but, c'mon, the Wii has a wireless adapter in it.

i had to get that damn thing when i moved to my new place. i refused to pay 100 for it tho. i searched on ebay until i got one for 79 bucks with shipping. 20 some bucks off, not too bad. still, outrageously expensive any way u look at it.
